The Issue

There are two major issues related to aquaculture. The first is on the increase in world population resulting in an increased demand for food supply and the second is the environmental issues associated with quality of environmental carrying capacity for food production.

Aquaculture is used to produce seafood for human consumption. The broad term “aquaculture” refers to breeding, raising, and harvesting animals and plants in all types of water environments, including ponds, rivers, lakes, and seas.
